It's the end of an era. For the first time in over 18 years, our family doesn't own a minivan. We don't need that much space these days, but it sure was nice to have one when we were traveling a lot and running the kids all over.
Over the years, we owned a Dodge Caravan, a Plymouth Voyager and finally a Kia Sedona. We bought the Sedona in 2005 and we've been driving it ever since. Yes, for 9 years, the Sedona took care of us. It moved us from Maine to Florida and then from Florida to our current home in West Virginia. We loved that van.
My husband was most attached to the Sedona He'd been driving it the most for the past few years because I got a new to me car. When we decided it was time to trade it in, we thought about a Chevy. We thought about a Ford, but we wound up back at the Kia dealership.
The Sedona had been the best vehicle we'd ever owned, so we were definitely in the market to buy another #Kia --the question was, which one? We went to test drive a #KiaSportage because after all, soon it will be mostly just my husband and me. We liked the Sportage a lot, but then I saw a Sorento that I fell in love with.
That's all it took. We're now proud owners of a 2015 #KiaSorento and we love it! It's the perfect size for us and it handles great. So far, so good! I imagine we'll be holding onto it for nine years or so, too!
It was hard to say goodbye to the van though...
Hopefully it will give some other family a few years of traveling. I know there were stains on the floor and some on the seats. It just means it was well-loved. I could probably tell you how all of those stains happened, too!
